Sorry friends for the lapse in posts. I will most likely not be posting very often for the next couple of months. I had a recent escalation in some of my health problems and will be having to scale back a lot in the different things I do and do a lot of resting and therapy/pain management appointments, but I thought I would pop in to share some layouts I did a few weeks ago, before all of this recent stuff started. I finally pulled out the pictures I had printed from the trip to Charleston, SC that my hubby and I went for vacation a couple of years ago. We had so much fun. For these layouts, I used primarily Crate Paper, with some Basic Grey papers as well. I used several different Studio Calico wood veneers, some enamel dots from Teresa Collin's, and some other gems from Hobby Lobby. For alphas, I used a number of different lines: Fancy Pants, Lilly Bee Designs, Tim Holtz, Heidi Swapp, Lawn Fawn, Basic Grey, letter stickers from the Target dollar aisles and American Crafts DIY lettering. I also tried some Jenni Bowlin products for the first time, with some of her red lined cream labels and gold rub ons. I used some wash tape from My Mind's eye and Studio G on a few of the layouts too.
Even though these layouts are quite different, color scheme wise than I usually work on, I really like how they turned out!
I am also trying to get better at journaling little bits on my layouts so that I can look back and read memories that I don't want to forget :)

What I have Been Doing.....
-- If you entered my giveaway, check the previous post to see if you won! One of the winners has contacted me so far, and the other winner has until Friday or I will be drawing another name! --
Well, today I used my lunch to edit a whole bunch of pictures of scrapbook pages I have been working on for the past month or so and will be sharing them with you all over the next week or so. Most of these are going to be 81/2 x 11 pages, since that is what I scrap in for my own albums. Today, however, I am going to share a few 12x12 pages that I put together to add to my mom's albums for Christmas. She doesn't know about them, so I am posting only here, not on Facebook. These are pictures of a cruise to Canada that I went on with her and a few older women from our church fellowship. For these pictures I used one of every single sheet from a paper pack that my dear friend Anita sent me last month! I love the colors in these papers, and am planning a home decor canvas with several papers that are left in the pad. It is going to require a huge mess being made though so I haven't really had the time to devote to it lately.
Anyhoo, on to the pictures!!! I had the name of the paper company in my head, but it is now escaping me, so I will try to remember to update this post later when I have it in front of me! I used products from multiple different lines, including Studio G stamps and rhinestones, American Crafts thickers, Darice washi tape, Jillibean Soup banners, Heidi Swapp rub-ons, Echo Park stickers, Colorbok ephemera and a leeetle bit of Crate Paper patterned paper from "The Pier" collection.

More Layouts to Share
Hello All, I hope that you are all enjoying better weather than we have been having the last two days. Rain, rain, rain! Anyhoo, I just thought that I would post some more layouts for the scrapbook project I have been working on. I am finally seeing the end of the tunnel. Only one more vacation to scrapbook, pictures of our church family growing up, and a few miscellaneous pictures that slipped through the cracks when I originally organized all of the photos at the beginning of this project.

Vacation Layouts
Well, I just thought I would share a few more scrapbook layouts today. These are vacation layouts that I worked on several weeks ago. I still have a few more vacation trips to work on, but I would say that I am about 2/3 done with the vacation pictures.
For these layouts I used cardstock and patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket, DCWV, Tim Holtz and papers from the Target dollar aisle. I used some vellum sentiments from an 8x8 travel themed paper set, some orange American Crafts Lullaby Thickers and Cosmo Cricket MIni Alphas for the titles. The embellishments are from the dollar aisle at target as well as Making Memories.

And Finally.......
A bit about our Dominican trip. Sorry it has taken me so long to get this up, but this month has been incredibly crazy!
We had a wonderful time in the Dominican. We stayed with the primary translator for the Bible Institute classes and his family. It was really wonderful being able to spend some time in fellowship with them and were so blessed to find out they both spoke English! So I was able to spend some nice time with the wife. They have a live in helper who made THE BEST food ever. I am pretty sure I gained 5 pounds just in the 3.5 days we were with them! They have this awesome way of making oatmeal (they add All Spice) that made it taste like no oatmeal I'd ever had....Actually, all of her food was delicious and hubby was very proud of me. I tried many things I had never had while I was there. :)
On Thursday two brothers from the church drove us to the resort we would be taking a short stay to rest. We had a gorgeous room with an awesome view though, and it was all-inclusive so all of the meals were included in the cost of the room, so that was nice. I spent several hours out on our balcony in the sun reading and enjoying the warmth.
There was a bit of excitement when I slipped getting in to the hot tub out on our deck at the resort - thank goodness hubby caught me just before my tailbone slammed in to the concrete. I wrenched my ankle and we thought I had broken my toe - almost the entire top of my toe and the knuckle turned this deep purple.... the next day we spent a bit of time in the ocean though and the salt water seemed to help the swelling and bruise dissipate much more quickly than I expected. It's still sore but thankfully no break! And I contracted a weird virus that made me spike a fever between 100 and 101 and get those shaking chills every night for about 6 straight nights (two or three in the Dominican and then probably 4 more days once we got home). Thankfully, I have been on the mend for the last week or so. I still am really drained of energy but the fever, sore throat and chills are gone, PTL!
