A Baby Shower and Some Happy Thoughts

This weekend was the baby shower for a good friend of mine. She is having a little baby boy.  I spent quite a while routing through all of my scrapping supplies to come up with "boy" colors (apparently I like pink quite a bit more than I thought!), but finally came up with a color combination that ended up going together pretty well. I don't have any good "coloring" markers or colored pencils right now, so I made due with some crayons I had. This same friend of mine is going through a lot of stress right now in different situations in her life and has been feeling a little down this week, so I wanted to cheer her up. Last night I sat down with some new paper I bought earlier this week and made her a card.

Newest Creations

This weekend was my husband's birthday. Since he had not been feeling well all week I did not have a chance to get him his birthday present, so I went to get it on the way home from work on Friday. On the way to Best Buy to get his new Zune HD [which He ended up being a) surprised and b) really happy (He liked it a lot :) ].

Anyway, I stopped by Wal-mart to get a card and a few other things and made a very quick  run through the scrap-booking section. They had lots on sale and I was very tempted, but I only bought one paper set! I loved the colors and couldn't wait to make something. :)  So on Saturday while we were having a "chill" day, I made a couple of cards (early start on Father's Day) and a just because card. I also tried making a bookmark.  I'm not thrilled with the bookmark, but it was my first try and I can't wait to try another one.

Mother's Day Craftiness

Today I am at home taking care of my husband who hurt his back this weekend (poor guy :( ). I spent the extra time inside this weekend working on Mother's Day cards for my mother and my mother-in-law. I really am finding that I enjoy making cards more and more with every new card I make. :)  I'm still new at it, but I'm having fun. I've posted some pictures below.
