Etsy Shop Additions - Spring Time

Hola all. Well, I finally managed to get some pictures uploaded and edited. I thought I'd share a springtime card set that I will be adding to my Etsy shop. I also made my first set of clothes pin magnets. Those are 99% done, I just have to set the magnets with hot glue and they will be all finished!

For both projects, I used papers I already had on hand, either paper scraps or paper that has been given to me by friends. I also used prima flowers and Q&Co gems. The buttons came from the dollar aisle at Michaels. Ribbon came from a friend and from Dollar Tree.

I was really happy with the way these magnets came out. I think that I will paint a very light layer of Modge Podge across the fronts of the magnets so that the paper is better protected.

Hope that everyone is having a great week!

Jumpin on the Valentines Bandwagon....

Hola amigas! Sorry I have been posting so sporadically. There has been a lot going on. I can't share about it quite yet, but lets just say the Lord is a Lord of miracles and he can change situations in the blink of an eye. :)

Anyhoo, I did get a little bit of crafting time in this weekend. (After my hubby put up some curtains for me...after realizing that we had lost some pieces to our rods in the move this summer and having to go out to get the right pieces...We got one set successfully hung in the spare room, but we're going to have to get a different rod for our office.... and the curtains need ironed... BADLY!!!) But anyway, I did get some crafting done, but no pictures yet. Sorry!

I do have a couple of things to share. Seeing all of the valentine creativity around blog land and Pinterest, I decided to whip up some printables. You should be able to just click on them to blow the images up and then right click and save to your PC.

The first is just some fun different colors that you can blow up and print out and frame, or use for valentine cards.

The second has a couple of images to write notes, and just some fun images to print out and use for valentines cards.

Hope you likey. :)

If you have trouble getting a clear picture, I have PDFs of the images too.

A quick creation

Hullo all, just wanted to share a digi image I whipped up using Microsoft Word. The images are stock images from Microsoft. The rest are just me playing with fonts! They are free to use, just please connect back to this blog if you create anything using the image! Thanks. :)

You should be able to just right click and save to your PC. Please let me know if you have any trouble.

Gifts

Sorry I haven't posted these in a few days. I've been pretty sick...I am finding myself very thankful for this challenge of finding gifts in every day life... It is forcing me to stop and remember that God is good, when the human side of me wants to gripe and complain about the bad stuff....

January 12:
something above you: a roof over my head, a gift that so many do not have
something below you: the strong foundation, the rock that I can stand on when things get tough
something beside you: My Jesus - You are beside me always, an eternal gift that you so freely give!

January 13:
     3 sounds you hear
      1. The wind blowing through the leaves, its such a soothing, almost musical sound, so beautiful...
      2. The soft trickle of rain drops
      3.  The voice of my husband telling me that he loves me

January 14:
3 ways you glimpsed the startling grace of God
     1. Each and every day, I am given a glimpse at His awesome grace in each and every aspect of my life
     2. The grace poured out over me last week that enabled me to keep quiet and not fight back when being treated unjustly at work
     3. The baptism of a newly saved young man - so encouraging, once again the Lord  turning a situation that once was so discouraging into yet another instance of His wonderful, saving Grace

January 15:
One thing you wore: my sickwear (hoodies, sweat pants and some nice fluffy warm socks) - so nice and warm and soft....
One thing you gave away: being able to give a friend pots and pans (hope she was able to use them!)
One thing you shared: The delicious strawberry cheesecake ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery that my hubby brought me home this weekend because I was sick :)

January 16:
3 ways you witnessed happiness today
I didn't really leave the couch today, except to go to the doctor, so I will just give thanks for my wonderful husband who is taking such good care of me :)

January 17:
One gift that you made laugh (I think this might actually be meant to say one gift that made you laugh): Listening to the totally nonsensical conversation going on between my co-workers...
One gift that made you pray: beginning a new book that prompts meditation and prayer as I read....
One gift that made you quiet: This Joy Dare...I sit quietly, pondering all of the wonderful things that the Lord has done for me as I think of things I am thankful for today...

January 18:
     3 Gifts from God's Word
     1. The reminder that some of the greatest men in God's Word were human too, yet God was able to use them in mighty, mighty ways! (David, Moses, Paul, Peter)
     2. The reminder that God is with us, no matter how dark the circumstances (Psalms)
     3. The reminder that, through God, all things are possible!

Happy Birthday Mom.... and some Pink Eye

Morning everyone, hope that everyone is enjoying their day off of work. I celebrated with a trip to Urgent Care this morning. I've been sick for about a week and a half and this weekend it took a turn for the worse... and I added pink eye to whatever infection I had. Hubby took me to Urgent Care this morning and I was diagnosed with Bronchitis and pink eye in both of my eyes... Thankfully, because I was able to get the antibiotics in my system I will still be able to go to work because I shouldn't be contagious anymore.

Anyway, I thought I would post a couple of pictures of the card that I made my mom for her birthday. Her birthday was January 10, but she was in Florida settling my baby sister into her dorm so she won't see it until later today when she gets home.

Supplies:
Paper: Basic recollections cardstock, My Minds Eye So Sophie 6x6 paper pad
Embellishment: Ribbon saved from a gift I got, paper embellishments from a Recollections border punch
Sentiment: Happy Birthday stamp from dollar aisle at Michaels

January 10 and 11....

Well, I didn't post anything yesterday for the January Joy Dare: capture these gifts, so today I will post for two days.

January 10:
A gift that is sour: ummmm.... hmmmm........
A gift that is sweet: my hubby scraping the ice off of my car in the mornings when he heads to work so I don't have to.
A gift that is Just. Right.: massages that help release the pressure in my muscles.

January 11:
3 Yellow things that strike you as fresh mercy:
          1. The yellow roses that are sitting on my desk right now.
          2. The yellow and pink ceramic mug from someone sweet at church.
          3. The sunshine that cuts through difficult, dreary days.

One Thousand Gifts in 2012

Last year, I had a friend that started sharing her One Thousand Gifts and today I was reminded of it by Emily over at chatting at the sky. I was hesitant to jump in last year. Last year was a very difficult year for me and I will admit, I was not very thankful... Sometimes I think we can get so focused on "surviving" when we are going through difficult circumstances, but in that "surviving" we so often miss the little things, those things that so easily slip right past us without our even realizing it. Those things we don't see because we are so busy doing a million and a half things that we forget to slow down, to remember to look for those small gifts that our Father God has so lovingly left in our paths, to help us, to encourage us, to remind us of His presence and His undying love for us.

So... this year, I think I'll take the challenge.  If I really believe Romans 8:28, then I have everything in the world to be thankful for, even the {seemingly} bad stuff. If you'd like to give thanks to your creator this year for all he's done, you can find more info at A Holy Experience.

Today's Joy Dare is "a gift in your hand, a gift you walked by, a gift you sat with."

"a gift in your hand" - my Starbucks grande skim latte

"a gift you walked by" - the beautiful bouquet of yellow roses that sits on my dining room table, cheerfully greeting me each time I walk by

"a gift you sat with" - my husband, who so sweetly gets up in the morning and makes us breakfast because he knows how rough mornings are for me.... and who sits next to me on the couch as he eats his breakfast, drinks his coffee and reads the holy Word of God.

A Christmas Gift for my Mom and MIL

Good Morning all. This morning I am going to share a stationary set that I made for my mother and MIL. I didn't have a chance to photograph the set I sent to my MIL before I got it in the mail before Christmas, but the set was the same, just used different paper. I found the template for the box on Splitcoaststampers, but modified for my own uses. Hope you likey!

Supplies:
Paper: Basic Recollections card stock (8 X 11 pack), k& Company small paper pack, 1 piece of loose patterned paper (don't remember where it is from, but it was pretty. My awesome cousin gave it to me! ;) )
Embellishments: Leaf embossing with Cuttlebug embossing folder, twine from Paper Source
Sentiments: Type out and printed off my PC, then took my scallop punch (Thanks Anita - I use it ALL.THE.TIME!), and a corner punch and adhered to the cards
Templates/Tutorials used: Splitcoaststampers Stationary Box Tutorial

Some more catch up....

Hey peeps!  Today I am going to share some cards/projects for the various babies being born all around me! I actually made cards for three different babies (okay, more like their mommies) but I forgot to take a picture of one of them (either that or its still on my camera), so I will share a card/gift bag set for a boy and a card for a girl.

Supplies:
Paper: Basic card stock, DCWV textured card stock, patterned paper for baby boy card from Recollections collection (Michaels brand) and from a friend, (I'll have to update this post later with the other brands), plain blue gift bag from Dollar Tree (I embellished it some to be personalized)
Embellishments: ribbon from dollar aisle at Target, gold pearls from acmoore,  buttons from a friend and dollar aisle at Michaels (Can you tell I love the dollar aisle??? And I really scored this year - Michaels put their dollar aisle stuff on sale for 60% and I was able to replenish my button stock for only 40 cents a pack!)
Sentiments: Sentiments from a Recollections stamp set for baby girls, and a Recollections stamp set for baby boys
