Christmas in July on the brain

I think it must be all of the Christmas in July blog challenges and tutorials I've been reading this month, but I have got Christmas card making on the brain!  I wasn't so fond of my first attempt, but I did like my second.  For this card, I used an already folded red card, some ribbon I got from a friend as a part of a card kit, and some pieces of scrap I had from making the previous Christmas card.

Last night, I worked on a Thanksgiving card.  I took a green card made from cardstock, some themed paper and ribbon I got from a friend, some buttons I got from the the dollar aisle at Michaels. I braided three different colors of ribbon together and raised the buttons to try to give the card a little more dimension.

** Edit: I am sending this card out today (October 8th), along with two others for Caring Hearts Card Drive that Ling's Design Studio is sponsoring. It's a good cause, giving cheer to elderly residents in Nursing Homes during the Holiday Season. See her website at the link above for more information!

  1. These are great, Ashley! Wow, your skill is really developing! I love how you used three different patterns behind the solid ornaments on the first card. And I really love the buttons on the second card.

    Nice job on both!
