The first card was an experiment with stamps. I made this card for a sweet older lady who used to send my husband and many other students cards and words of encouragement when they were in Bible School. This card was primarily made with scraps of material because it was a smaller card so I cannot for the life of me remember where they came from. The stamps came from a set I found in a dollar bin at Michaels. I did the sentiment freehand.
I also made another Christmas card used with materials provided by a friend and a birthday card for my MIL, also made with materials from a friend and also a paper doily I bought in a package at a dollar store.
** Edit: I am sending this card out today (October 8th), along with two others for Caring Hearts Card Drive that Ling's Design Studio is sponsoring. It's a good cause, giving cheer to elderly residents in Nursing Homes during the Holiday Season. See her website at the link above for more information!
Merry Christmas - Outside View
Merry Christmas - Close Up
The circles were from another patterned paper. I cut them out and layered them.
Merry Christmas - Inside
I thought the inside of the card looked a little bland, so I put a colored piece of paper in over the green and freehanded some trees and a sentiment. I did the trees in pencil first and went over the pencil with a sharpee pen.
MIL Birthday Card
I played with this card a lot until I was finally satisfied with it. This involved pulling pieces off several times and rearranging/putting something entirely new on!
Alrightie, I have to get off to work, so ttfn! :)
They look wonderful! I love the birthday card colors...great job.
ReplyDeleteHi, thanks foe coming by my blog and leaving a sweet comment! Looks like you've been busy craftin' up some cards! i love the card with the doily, aren't those fun! I love using them. good luck with your new trimmer too. I think you will find that it makes your paper projects easier to make. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteWow, three very different and equally great cards! I love the gray and white! Really classy, and I think the lady you made it for will really be touched. I have that same stamp set! I LOVE $1 stamps! I store mine in plastic baseball card holders in a three ring binder I got from Office Max. Just a little tip for ya! ;o)
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas card is great. I love how it's so non-traditional. Very fun.
And the last one, great job as well! I keep looking at those little paper doilies at work and meaning to pick some up for stamping on, but I always forget about it when I go to buy stuff, since they aren't near the papercrafting supplies.
It's frustrating to have a card that isn't working the way you envisioned, but most of the time it comes out even better in the end. This one is very sweet!
Great job on all of them!
Thanks for the tip Christy!
ReplyDeleteOh and Paper Doilies - I found mine at the dollar store.
